BL’s environmental team has been instrumental in the cleanup of a former brownfield site at 67-71 Minerva Street in Derby, Connecticut, paving the way for a vibrant, four-story apartment building in the heart of downtown, just a block from City Hall.
Since 2014, BL has been working to make this possiBLe, starting with environmental assessments that uncovered contamination from petroleum, solvents, asbestos, and lead-based paint. Over the years, we’ve developed a comprehensive remediation plan and helped secure critical funding to bring the project to life.
Cleanup and construction officially began in 2023, marking a significant step toward transforming this long-abandoned industrial site into a valuable community asset. As part of a broader revitalization effort, this development is expected to bring new energy to the area.
We’re proud to play a role in shaping the future of Derby and look forward to seeing this project’s lasting impact!
