Our growth offers an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Traffic/Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Group. This is an excellent opportunity for a technical expert who is passionate about solving complex transportation challenges and mentoring junior staff.
A successful candidate in this role will have 7+ Years of traffic/transportation engineering experience and hold a PE license in one of the listed locations. Experience with traffic impact studies, corridor studies, signal design, and signing/pavement marking.
This role involves technical leadership and project execution across various traffic and transportation engineering disciplines, including traffic analysis, signal design, and roadway planning. The position also involves mentoring junior staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including traffic analysis, signal sequencing, traffic data collection, modeling, and simulation.
- Develop engineering plans for traffic signal design, intersection geometrics, Complete Streets planning, pavement markings, signage, and construction staging.
- Assist in the preparation of contract documents, including plans, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.
- Lead the technical aspects of multiple transportation projects, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide responsive client service and strong communication, both internally and externally.
- Supervise and conduct traffic planning, engineering analyses, and alternatives analysis.
- Represent the company in client meetings, public hearings, and project-related discussions.
- Maintain organized project files and ensure proper documentation.
- Mentor and guide junior staff while delegating tasks effectively.
Position Requirements:
- 7+ years of traffic/transportation engineering experience.
- PE license required, PTOE certification preferred.
- Expertise in traffic impact studies, corridor studies, signal design, and signing/pavement marking.
- Proficiency in CADD (AutoCAD or MicroStation), Vissim, and Synchro.
- Experience in public meetings or forums preferred.
- Management experience is a plus.
