Atlantic Sunrise Expansion Project
Various Locations, Pennsylvania
Selected to provide top-tier pipeline engineering services for the compression and looping of the Transco Leidy Line in Pennsylvania, BL Companies sought to seamlessly connect, through the Greenfield pipeline segment, the northeastern Marcellus producing region – a large geographic area of prolific shale gas extraction – to the Transco mainline in southeastern Pennsylvania. The project included 178 miles of Greenfield pipe, 15 miles of looping and 2.5 miles of replacement piping.
Our comprehensive scope of services included Access Road Design, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Design Plans (E&SCP), and Post Construction Stormwater Management Plans for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This involved intricate hydrologic analysis both before and after project implementation, covering temporary and permanent access roads, facilities and ROW areas with challenging steep slopes or highly erodible soil for the proposed 200-mile pipeline.
Additionally, BL Companies played a pivotal role providing assistance with QA/QC of permit applications, tables, and figures to ensure consistency between all of the related permit application drawings, as well as conformance with the FERC Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS).
BL Companies conducted a meticulous review of site-specific drawings related to wetlands and waterbodies for the Army Corps, accompanied by calculations for waterbody crossings, and sizing of flume piping to handle 2-year storm events. BL also developed the Environmental Construction Plan (ECP) for hydrostatic test water within high-quality watersheds in Pennsylvania, and actively participated in FERC “open house” meetings, engaging with local state agencies.
