Miami LNG Facility—NextEra

Serving as Owner’s Engineer, BL Companies provided support to Florida City Gas, a NextEra company, in the successful completion of a cutting-edge 270,000-gallon LNG peak shaving facility located near Miami, Florida. This state-of-the-art plant includes three cylindrical LNG tanks and process pumps, vaporizers, a truck loading/offloading station, and comprehensive instrument air and nitrogen systems. BL’s role included putting pencil to paper — or fingertips to keyboard — by translating concepts into meticulously crafted plans, including drafting the facility’s operating and maintenance procedures, and the security, integrity management and control room management plans. Additionally, BL Companies played a pivotal role in the development of operator training and qualification protocols. BL’s commitment extended beyond the drafting board as we provided hands-on support during the commissioning phase, and actively participated in process safety reviews for design changes that optimized plant operations. BL’s presence during start up helped ensure safe operations of the facility.
