Sam’s Club Solar Installations
Freehold, New Jersey
In conjunction with Greenskies Renewable Energy, BL Companies provided a feasibility study and design of 400kW roof-mounted solar arrays that would be integrated into the building’s electrical system to harness the power of the sun.
Preliminary work involved a structural analysis of the existing roof to verify that adequate capacity was available for the proposed Solyndra solar panels, a brand of cylindrical solar panels that were designed to capture sunlight from multiple angles.
The design included field documentation of the existing features on the roof, including multiple skylights and mechanical units, and preparing the solar module layout accordingly. BL Companies also provided electrical engineering for this project, which included wiring distribution, inverter selection and design of the electrical connection to the building’s electrical service.
